Rules and Regulations

RULES OF CONDUCT

1. Every student must carry with him/her the school almanac daily.
2. Students must come to school in neat and clean uniform only. This rule applies even when they come to school for any purpose other than attending classes even after school hours. Scribbling on uniform or its improper wear is punishable.
3. It is compulsory to wear the school ID card every day.
4. Entry without ID card for students as well as parents will not be permitted.
5. All the students must be at their seats before a teacher enters the class. During class hours, no student is allowed to leave the class without a valid 'class-pass'. While moving from one class to another, the students must move in a line and maintain discipline.
6. All the students should greet their teachers whenever they meet them. Students must not use abusive or foul language towards teachers or fellow students.
7. It is not advisable to bring to school valuable articles like expensive or smart watches, cameras, mobile phones, electronic gadgets and jewellery. If found, such objects will be confiscated by the school authorities. The school is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings. Lending or borrowing of money or valuable articles is strictly prohibited.
8. It is compulsory for students to wear lab coats during practical periods in Chemistry lab. Otherwise student(s) will not be allowed to do the practical.
9. After school hours all students must return home directly without delay. Students are discouraged from standing in groups outside the school.
10. The School does not promote and support any type of ‘conti’ or continuation of parties held by students groups outside the school premises.
11. Students who come to the school in the care of and escort should never leave the school before he/she arrives. If the escort is delayed, students should report to the school office.
12. After the school hours,students are expected to go home. They are not allowed to go to their friends' houses for parties etc. from the school.
13. During recess, no student is allowed to remain in the classroom.
14. (a) The school reserves the right to dismiss students whose parents show little interest in the progress of their wards or whose conduct is harmful to other students/parents/staff of the school.

(b) Immorality, any objectionable activity inside or outside school premises either during or beyond school hours, dishonesty, rude or disorderly behaviour either inside or outside the school premises, or wilful damage to school property shall be sufficient grounds for the immediate dismissal of a student.

(c) Attention is called to the Delhi School Education RuleNo. 36 detailing forbidden practices which include smoking, use of drugs or intoxicants, rowdyism, rude behaviour, casteism, cyber-bullying and communalism. Students involved in any of the above activities will be dismissed.

15. Use of abusive language/passing filthy/ vulgar comments or bullying will invite stern action immediately. Such matters should be reported in writing to the Grievance Committee.
16. No collection for any purpose whatsoever may be undertaken without the prior permission of the Principal.
17. No student is permitted to be a member of any club/association without the prior permission of the Principal.
18. Parents are expected to report at once to the class teacher in case their ward is suffering from any infectious disease. They should not send their ward to school till the infection is controlled, else school authorities will take serious note of this and the student will be sent back home.
19. Sufficient care is taken for the security of students, however, in case of natural, accidental mishap or third party negligence, the school shall not be held responsible.
20. The school takes all necessary care and precautions during activities and outings. In spite of this, if any accident or mishap occurs, the school will not be held responsible.
21. Students and parents should not offer any presents or gifts to teachers except with the explicit permission of the Principal.
22. Wearing thin lightweight ‘Kada’ is permitted only to Sikh boys and girls.
23. Girls with long hair must plait it neatly, while short hair (upto shoulder length) can be tied up as ponytails with black rubber bands. Girls with very short hair should wear black hair bands.
24. Boys’ hair should be short, neat and simple. It should be properly trimmed, long sideburns are not allowed. Hair at the back of the neck should be clearly above the collar.
25. Colouring of hair and tattoos are not permitted.
26. Care must be taken of all school property and no student should scratch or spoil the desks or chairs or damage things belonging to others. Damage done even by an accident, should be reported at once to the appropriate authority. Any damage done will be made good by the person responsible. Anyone who sees something damaged should report the matter even if she/he does not know who has done it. Each class will be responsible for looking after it class property.
27. All waste materials should be put in the dustbins provided for the purpose.
28. Throwing stones or playing with hard ball is forbidden.
29. Bringing fireworks/bursting or extending any kind of support for bursting crackers or splashing water or colour in the school premises or in the vicinity of the school is strictly prohibited, even during festival time. Non - compliance to these instructions can result in expulsion from the school.
30. No student is allowed to self ride/drive to school motorcycle/ scooter / car etc. In case a student violates this rule, the school authorities will be forced to rusticate him/her and the vehicle will be confiscated and the matter will be informed to the Traffic Police Department. The confiscated vehicle will be returned only after the student completes his/her school education. (Students coming to school by bicycle should refrain from double or triple riding.)
31. Punctuality at all times is essential. Students are expected to reach school on time. Those who contravene this rule without valid reason will be punished as per rules.
32. Every student should strive to keep up the high standard of the school by excelling in studies, co-curricular activities, good conduct and maintaining a high moral character.
33. A student who fails in the same class twice shall not be permitted to continue his/her studies in the school.
34. A student who uses unfair means during examination will be awarded a 'ZERO' in that subject. Repetition of the same will result in his/her expulsion from the school.
35. The progress card will be given only at a Parent Teacher Meeting. Non-attendance of PTM (when compulsory) is discouraged.
36. Remarks, whenever given in the almanac should be counter-signed by the parents/ guardians only.
37. All the students must converse in English in the school premises. English conversation at home too is encouraged.
38. During all the PTM ss students should come with their parents in complete school uniform.
39. No parent is allowed to meet any teacher during school hours unless they are called by teachers. The parents can send their request through school almanac.
40. Parents are not allowed to send any eatables or drinking items for their ward while he/she is in school.                              
41. The school condemns any obscene/offensive/objectionable post regarding any teacher/staff or student. Any post/meme/comment about school authorities, teachers or students is a sufficient reason for dismissal of a student, as itis a cyber crime.
42.  Students may apply Mehandi/Henna only on the palms during special occasions (marriage of their close relative) only with prior written permission of their class teacher.
43. The school reserves the right to dismiss the student if he/she is involved in any fight inside /outside the school or if he/she calls any outsiders for threatening or beating the students outside the school. School authorities strictly condemn inter personal chats /memes/posts among students on social media. School is not accountable to settle such issues among parents. The parents may take an appropriate action through Cyber Crime Authorites.
